Each item in Minecraft has a unique ID assigned to it, known as an item ID, this can be used in commands to spawn the item into the game. The item ID for block of gold in Minecraft is shown below:

Created when putting nine Gold Ingots in a Crafting Table, a Gold Ore Block can be used as a storage method for Gold Ingots, as a decorative block, and as an ingredient for making Golden Apples – a rare and expensive food item.

  • Times are for unenchanted tools as wielded by players with no status effects, measured in seconds. For more information, see Breaking § Speed.
  • An iron or diamond pickaxe is required to mine this block, using anything else will destroy the block, including the 9 gold ingots used to create it. Blocks of gold have the same blast resistance as stone, which means they can easily be destroyed by an explosion.

Blocks of gold are often used for decoration, but can also be used as a way to store more gold in a single inventory slot, as 1 full stack of gold blocks equals 9 stacks of gold ingots.

Minecraft Block of Gold is created by placing 9 gold ingots in a 3×3 square on a crafting table. They have no current crafting use, other than being able to be turned back into 9 gold ingots.
